The two buildings sit lightly on a narrow site, either side of a central garden with where setbacks allowing for natural light to fill the internal spaces shaped a garden that wraps gently around its edges. Large expanses of glass connect the interior to the greenery, expanding the sense of space and light despite the modest footprint.
A central garden which separates the main residence from the smaller building, now used as an artist’s studio, creates both privacy and a pause between functions. The dual occupancy is quietly resolved, each part flowing with a sense of openness and calm.
Materials are natural and tactile, with subtle textures and carefully considered joinery creating sculptural forms and enhancing the dialogue between inside and out. The house feels larger than its dimensions, a serene composition of light, space, and garden.
